MEET DR. RALPH PORRAS
As a school superintendent candidate, I am dedicated to ensuring the success and well-being of every student. My experience and passion drive me to create positive change and provide the best education possible for all our children.​Our campaign is focused on innovation, inclusivity, and excellence. We aim to elevate our schools to new heights and prepare our students for a bright future. Join us in this journey to make a difference in the lives of our students and our community.​I have 36 years of experience as an educator, hold a doctoral degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in Collaborative Leadership, and have served in various leadership roles.

Dr. Ralph Porras joined Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools Faris Sabbah at the First Five Commission’s Parent Empowerment Summit, a gathering focused on strengthening family engagement and supporting early childhood success. Dr. Porras is committed to working alongside education leaders and families to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive from the very beginning.

Dr. Ralph Porras brought school spirit to life as Superintendent of Pacific Grove Unified School District, engaging with students, families, and the community at Friday night football games. He believes leadership means being present for our schools, on the sidelines and in the classroom, and showing up for the people he serves.

Dr. Ralph Porras proudly stood alongside community leaders at the MILPA Collective’s Back to Land fundraiser at the Digital Nest in Salinas, supporting a bold initiative to invest $4 million in youth leadership, cultural empowerment, and community wellness.
The MILPA Collective's mission is to cultivate intergenerational leadership and create pathways of opportunity for young people and families, which reflects Dr. Porras’s lifelong commitment to educational equity and student success.
As a candidate for Monterey County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Porras believes strong schools are built through strong community partnerships, and he is dedicated to uplifting the organizations and grassroots leaders who are shaping brighter futures for our children.
